Allow me to provide you with a brief definition of the different types of window shades.
Sheer shades: When in the opened position, sheer shades allow light and snooping eyes, to pass through the window. When closed, the fabric horizontal slats act like a window blind, blocking both light and prying eyes.
Roller shades: Spring loaded or with a continuous cord loop lift system, roller shades have just the two positions. Roller shades are either up, or they’re down. Your only choice is how far up or down the roller shade is.
