Two of the most popular products people choose when ordering window treatments are faux wood blinds and wood blinds. What exactly is the difference? That’s what we’re answering in this blog post!
Benefits of Faux Wood Blinds

Faux wood blinds, sometimes called vinyl blinds, are extremely versatile. They are very durable and provide a high resistance to moisture, thanks to their PVC construction. This makes them ideal for just about any room, including bathrooms and kitchens. If you’re in an area that experience high levels of humidity, these blinds will resist warping. Faux wood blinds are also an economical way to get the appearance of a wood blind without the cost of buying real wood blinds. You can choose up to 15 colors to complement your style.
The one drawback to faux wood blinds is the weight of the product. They are not ideal for very large windows, but you can try to see if a 2-on-1 headrail is available for the product you’re looking at.
Benefits of Real Wood Blinds
Real wood blinds are still extremely popular. For many people, there is no substitution to the warmth and sophistication they provide a room. Wood blinds add texture, depth and dimension to your home. Plus, there’s over 30 color options with our different paints and stains. Many of them have a protective UV coating to prevent fading. They are also much lighter than faux wood, so if you are looking to cover larger windows, real wood is best as it’s less strain on your window frame and walls.
However, they are not moisture-resistant, so they aren’t recommended for rooms with high levels of humidity.

Which will you choose?
The most important thing is to make sure you are happy with the color and texture of the blinds before you buy them!
