Is it time to freshen up your space with drapery or new curtains? We can help with that! After all, nothing beats the classic look of custom drapery.
But what do you do with your old curtains? We can help with that too! Here are a few ideas to repurpose and upcycle the extra fabric.
Bed Canopy
Create a cozy enclosure by transforming your drapes into a bed canopy! Sheer curtains are the best to use for this due to their lightweight, airy material.

Tablecloths / Table Runners
Get a brand new tablecloth simply by laying your drapes over your dining room table or customize it (see tutorial); you could also hang it over a side table to hide storage! For a table runner (tutorial here), measure out the proper width you need and cut the drape. Depending on the fabric, you may need to use fabric glue or sew the edges so it doesn’t fray. You can even craft matching napkins (see tutorial)!
If the drape is more than 50% polyester, you should be safe to clean them in the washing machine and air dry them flat. However, your local dry cleaner is the safest option to best maintain the original color and texture of the material, especially if the material needs to be dry cleaned, like velvet.

Pillow Covers
Can we all agree that pillows can be a bit expensive? Upcycle your drapes by learning how to make pillow covers! Get an idea for this project by checking out these directions by The Spruce Crafts.
